Purple tea is a cultivar of the tea family that is grown exclusively in the Nandi Hills region of Kenya. The leaves and brewed cup have a purple hue due to a high concentration of anthocyanin, the antioxidant found in blueberries, pomegranates, and acai berries. The leaves are slightly withered to create a subtle and natural taste while retaining all of the health benefits.
