This sensational tea is Purple Tea blended with refreshing fruits such as Apple, Pineapple, Lemon, Blueberries and Elderberries. We think this makes an excellent iced tea and could even be a delicious tea cocktail.
Purple Tea is a new cultivar of the tea family (botanical name Camellia Sinensis Assamica) that is grown at extremely high elevations in Kenya. It has beautiful purple leaves and brews a lovely purple hue that intensifies if you add a squeeze of lemon. Why is it purple? The leaves are purple because they contain anthocyanin, the same antioxidant found in blueberries, pomegranates and acai berries. The leaves are slightly withered to create a subtle and natural taste while retaining all of the health benefits.
Ingredients: Purple Tea bended with, apple, pineapple, rosehips, blueberries, cranberries, orange peel, strawberry slices, elderberry, calendula, lemon myrtle with piña colada and strawberry flavor.
Brewing instructions are between a green tea and oolong tea. We recommend 180 degrees for 3 minutes. One teaspoon of tea for up to 8 ounces of water.
